HEADS UP: Apple Is Recalling Aussie AC Chargers At Risk Of Zapping You

Heads up, friends. That slight buzzing you’ve been feeling when you plug your iPhone charger into the wall? Yeah, that’s apparently not supposed to happen.

Apple has issued a recall order for iPhone wall chargers that were made at some point over the last TWELVE YEARS, in a global recall operation that includes Australia and New Zealand models.
The company released a statement today confirming the move, stating that certain models of the chunky wall charger are at risk of breaking and causing electrical shocks. The products were shipped with Mac and certain iOS devices between 2003 and 2015. So, y’know… pretty much the entire time the majority of you have been on the Apple train.
The device in question is that plug part that slots into your wall or USB adapter. You know the one. Stop looking at me like that.
Apple provided a handy chart to help you identify whether or not your product is affected. The plug has had a redesigned model released in the interim years that is not part of the recall.
Apple is offering an exchange if you do happen to have the faulty charger, but you will need the serial number of the product you got it with.
You can sort out a new, shock-less unit either by popping in to your local Apple Store, or by organising it online.
The recall notice, in detail, was posted on Apple‘s website.
