Harvey Weinstein Attacked In Restaurant After Reportedly Refusing Photo

It’s probably surprising a story like this has taken this long to pop up, but there you go: Harvey Weinstein has been attacked in a restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The report comes courtesy of the gossip intelligence agency that is TMZ, which claims that Weinstein was eating at the Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort when two men took a seat at the table next to him. One of them walked up to Weinstein and said he was a huge fan of his movies – obviously a suspect claim to begin with – and wanted a photo with him.

Weinstein declined, with one of the restaurant’s managers saying he was “very sweet about it” and said, “I’d rather not take a picture right now.”

Later in the evening, when Weinstein was preparing to leave the restaurant, one of the men – named Steve – confronted him, while the other man filmed. Speaking to TMZ, Steve said he approached Weinstein and said “You’re such a piece of shit for what you did to these women,” and then punched him in the face twice.

Weinstein apparently declined to call the police and left the restaurant.

TMZ posted a video of the encounter too, which proves that it did actually happen – though we’ve gotta call out Steve’s claim that he punched Weinstein twice in the face. Even the most rudimentary analysis shows that these were no more than two feeble backhanded slaps to the jowls. Neither of them seem to particularly bother Weinstein, who – and this may shock you – is not looking his best right now.

The man seen trying to cover up the camera here is reportedly Weinstein’s sobriety coach at the rehab centre he’s attending in Scottsdale. The video shows quickly usher Weinstein past him and then hold up his hands to prevent the men from filming any more.
