Photographer Hamish Ta-me is intrigued by the most basic law of the Universe – gravity. When we propel ourselves upwards we must inevitably sink down again. Those forces are obviously beyond our control but it’s amazing what some people can do in that fleeting moment of flight.
Titled “La Petite Mort” (A Little Death), Ta-me explores gravity through a special rig that allows him to shoot 40 frames in four seconds and an army of break dancing friends, though the dream like kinetics of his work more closely resembles ballet.
It’s a stirring reminder that what goes up must come down again and oh yeah, break dancing is the best shit ever.
