Gwyneth Paltrow’s Throwback Halloween Costume Is A Cheeky ‘Seven’ Spoiler

Here’s a theory: Gwyneth Paltrow’s current focus on ‘wellness’ comes as some kind of subconscious response to her film Seven, which essentially catalogued the entire breadth of human depravity. David Fincher’s 1995 thriller touched on each of the seven deadly sins, but its depiction of wrath obviously had the most profound impact on the actor.

How do we know? Her Halloween costume, obviously, because all rigorous psychological analyses of abject strangers revolve around their party attire. But before we go on, we feel it’s appropriate to get reacquainted with the context of her get-up.

Consider this your 22-years-too-late spoiler alert: Seven saw Paltrow, Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt, and Kevin Spacey cavort in neo-noir dankness, as the latter themed his murders around the aforementioned sins. The final killing was one Spacey’s John Doe technically didn’t commit: instead, the dismembered head of Paltrow’s character turned Pitt’s detective into the embodiment of wrath.

Now, Paltrow has paid tribute to her shocking unseen turn with this simple but oh-so-effective Halloween costume:

Simple. Effective. Brutal. Consider us envious at the sight of this one.
