Get Ready To Do It Together ‘Cos ‘Hi-5’ Is Making A Comeback In 2017

Your childhood dreams! They live once more!

Impossibly sparkly and colourful TV series Hi-5 is officially getting new life breathed into it by its OG home Channel Nine after a 5-year absence.
The network announced today that they’d be rebooting the series, with a brand new cast, in 2017.
The show last aired on the network in December of 2011. After that, the franchise spawned the kind-of spinoff ‘Hi-5 House,’ which still airs today on Netflix. But a return to Channel Nine means the series shifts back into full-time gear as a kid’s TV powerhouse.
The series will also be produced in Australia, as opposed to ‘Hi-5 House‘ which does the bulk of their production work in the south-east Asian region.
Nine has renewed its partnership with the group, and will now focus on producing a locally-made series aimed at kids aged 2-5. The series will utilise Australian producers and writers, and will cast locally as well.
Executive creative director and executive producer of the show, Julie Greene, stated how exciting it is to once again be back producing early childhood content for the Nine Network.

“We’re really excited to be working with Nine to develop a reinvigorated Hi-5 show. It will continue to offer the opportunity for active participation from children at home, with a sense that they are sharing in a dynamic, physically involving and sensitive exploration of their world, while also giving a platform to showcase a new lineup of ‘triple threat’ of young Australian talent who can sing, dance and act.”

Casting for the show is reportedly set to begin quite soon, so if you fancy yourself a bit of a triple threat and don’t mind the idea of “doing it together” with a group of bright coloured, excessively vibrant young go-getters, then we suggest updating that headshot of yours quick sticks.

Maybe now Humphrey B. Bear can now retire from his standing ‘Carols‘ gig once and for all. The poor bastard is so knackered he hasn’t put on pants in a solid decade.
