Oh, did you want another ‘Game of Thrones‘ book? You wanted the next book in the series ‘A Song of Ice & Fire’?
WELL NO, YOU CAN’T HAVE IT. It’s frustrating, we know, but GEORGE DOESN’T WANT YOU TO HAVE IT YET.
However, according to a recent interview that he did backstage at the Emmys, he’s got loooooooads of info ready to make a prequel.
He says he’s got “thousands of pages” of the bloody stuff, and GoT stans are *FURIOUS* – why is he ruddy doing that when he still has two books to write first???
Never fear though. Finishing the books is – thank fuck – his top priority:
“I do have thousands of pages of fake history of everything that led up to Game of Thrones, so there’s a lot of material there and I’m writing more.At the moment we still have this show to finish and I still have two books to finish so that’s all speculation.”
‘That’s all speculation’ is a mighty strange phrase from someone who literally just said it himself and therefore created the OG speculation, but we guess we’ll just leave that hush.
Bring on dem books.
