George R.R. Martin Has Released Illustrated “Untold History of Westeros”

He of the jaunty suit vest and the ‘funny laugh,’ has not, it would seem, been devoting his full attention to the long awaited ‘Winds of Winter‘ but has instead created ‘The World of Ice & Fire: The Untold History of Westeros and the Game of Thrones.’

The book acts as companion piece to ‘A Song of Ice and Fire‘ – which, of course, now also comes complete with a HBO visual aid – and, proving that fan-fiction both erotic and otherwise does pay, was co-written by Elio M. García, Jr. and Linda Antonsson, the founders of the renowned fan site Westeros.org.

Whilst fans will no doubt be pleased with “this lavishly illustrated volume” – dubbed ‘The GRRMarillion’ – which “is a comprehensive history of the Seven Kingdoms, providing vividly constructed accounts of the epic battles, bitter rivalries, and daring rebellions that lead to the events of A Song of Ice and Fire,” after word that the series may be extended to eight books trickled down they may also be right in worrying about an untimely death of the author. (To which he would and has replied ‘fuck you.’)

Still… Speaking of GOT-induced blue balls, when asked during the talk what the words for House Martin might be, George replied “Deadline? What deadline?”
