Oprah Winfrey’s long-time BFF Gayle King has spoken up following the explosive Harry & Meghan interview, claiming that Markle has “plenty of receipts” to back her claims.

Gayle, darl, show us the receipts! I’m begging ya.

The 66-year-old discussed her thoughts on CBS This Morning, a show that she also hosts.

“I think Meghan has plenty of receipts, meaning she’s been keeping track of things,” Gayle said.

But Gayle isn’t the first person to claim that Meghan’s got receipts.

Just days ago, Vampire Diaries actress and long-time friend of Meghan’s Janina Gavankar claimed that she has email and text receipts to back up her claims, particularly the ones about the colour of Archie’s skin.

“I know the family and the staff were well aware of the extent of it. Though their recollections may vary, ours don’t because we lived through it with them,” she told UK’s This Morning, asserting that the allegations of racial abuse is not news to the royals.

“There are many emails and texts to support that. I don’t know who knew, I know that the family and the staff knew.”

Jaina stressed that she was not speaking on behalf of Meghan and Harry, but confirmed that she is still very close with them.

“Oh yes, absolutely, I talk to them of all the time,” she said.

“We watched the special together, actually. We’re all happy that we are in a new era, we get to tell the truth.”

Gayle’s comments come as The Duke of Cambridge Prince William broke his silence on Friday morning as the first royal to personally respond to the interview.

William revealed that he has not spoken to Harry or Meghan since the Oprah interview came out but “will do.”

“We are very much not a racist family,” he responded when asked if the royal family are racist.

Buckingham Palace released a statement on the interview on Tuesday, asserting that the allegations are deeply “concerning” and will be dealt with internally.

“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately,” the statement from the Queen read.

“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved family members.”
