Three people have died and at least 12 were injured after a mass shooting at a Californian food festival, CBS News reports.
NBC Bay Area reports emergency services were called to the Gilroy Garlic Festival, some 50km southeast of San Jose, at the end of the event’s final day.
SWAT teams have been deployed to the area.
Eyewitness Julissa Contreras told the station she saw a man with a rifle firing indiscriminately into a crowd.
Gilroy Police state the scene is still active, and authorities have advised people to steer clear of the vicinity.
There is no indication a suspect has been detained.

Authorities have not confirmed the number of those injured in the incident, but Santa Clara Valley Medical Center is reportedly expecting several trauma victims.
Footage posted on social media shows crowds running from the scene of the annual food festival. Multiple gunshots can be heard in the background.
