Gal Gadot Rumoured To Refuse ‘Wonder Woman 2’ If Brett Ratner’s Involved

Celebrity gossip site Page Six is reporting that Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot will refuse a role in the movie’s sequel if director/producer and accused rapist Brett Ratner is involved in the production.

According to a source at Warner Bros., Gadot is responding to the allegations against Ratner from multiple women of assault and sexual harassment by withdrawing all her support for anything he’s got a hand in.

Ratner’s company RatPac-Dune Entertainment helped produce Wonder Woman, but Warner Bros. cut ties with him after the allegations surfaced.

Page Six’s source told them:

Brett made a lot of money from the success of Wonder Woman, thanks to his company having helped finance the first movie. Now Gadot is saying she won’t sign for the sequel unless Warner Bros. buys Brett out [of his financing deal] and gets rid of him.

They also said of Gadot:

She’s tough and stands by her principles. She also knows the best way to hit people like Brett Ratner is in the wallet. She also knows that Warner Bros. has to side with her on this issue as it develops. They can’t have a movie rooted in women’s empowerment being part-financed by a man accused of sexual misconduct against women.

Women in Hollywood including Olivia Munn and Natasha Henstridge have said that Ratner harassed and assaulted them, with one actress saying he forced her to perform oral sex. Ellen Page has also said that Ratner outed her on set without permission, and made homophobic and sexist comments while she was filming X-Men.

While representatives for Gadot and Ratner have not responded to requests for comment, a Warner Bros. representative told Page Six just one word: “False.

Considering that it appears the company has already comprehensively severed their connection with Ratner, that may be the truth; we’d love it if Gadot had something to do with it, though.
