The hero teen identified as Egg Boy, who won the nation’s heart overnight by smashing an egg on the head of disgraced senator Fraser Anning, has taken to social media to speak out about the experience.
In a video posted to Twitter overnight, the young man is seen walking down the street saying: “Don’t egg politicians, you get tackled by thirty bogans at the same time, I learnt the hard way.”
“No regrets,” he signed off the Tweet, which now appears to have been taken down, along with the hashtag #Eggboy.
Footage from the event shows the teen approaching Fraser Anning with his phone held aloft, before cracking the egg, a moment that will live on forever in the annals of wild Aussie political shit.
Anning is then seen turning and clocking the boy twice, and subsequent footage shows the senator’s supporters physically accosting the teen in an attempt to place him in a citizen’s arrest.
