Four Buck’s Party Attendees Released After Woman Found Dead In Melb Hotel

Four men taken into police custody and questioned in relation to the death of a woman found in their Melbourne hotel room have been released without charge, pending further enquiries.

The NSW and ACT men had rented an apartment at the Oaks on Market hotel in the city’s CBD for a buck’s night celebration on Saturday. Seven other men were in attendance, and have since returned interstate.
Emergency services were called to the hotel at about 8am on Sunday morning, after one of the guests found the woman’s body in the shower.
Her death is being treated as suspicious, and homicide detectives are conducting an investigation.
An autopsy was conducted to determine the woman’s cause of death, and authorities are still working to formally confirm her identity.
Police say the woman is believed to have been in her 20s, and was wearing a long sleeve black top, a denim skirt, and white sneakers when she was found.
Two men who attended the party said they had attended a football match on Saturday, before taking to the Cloud 9 club night on King Street. It is believed the men met the woman there.
They did not to tell media who the woman was, or how they met her.
However, two of the men did tell reporters they believed they had been “stitched up”.
Police have urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
