Former SBS Journo Fired For ANZAC Day Tweets Goes Back For More

Former SBS sports reporter Scott McIntyre has continued last year’s controversy, posting a series of tweets echoing sentiments he tweeted on ANZAC Day last year that got him fired from the SBS.

Three of the four tweets are blocks of text describing violent conduct by Australian soldiers in both World War I and World War II, the other is a mural of a man having his brain removed before being kitted out as a soldier, with the caption “Heroism on command, senseless violence, all the loathsome nonsense that goes by the name of patriotism.”.

McIntyre provoked outrage last ANZAC Day after tweeting things of a similar nature.

The tweets were condemned personally by SBS head honcho Michael Ebeid and (at the time) Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull. McIntyre was subsequently fired after refusing to delete or apologise for the tweets.
