“Up To” Five People Including Children Found Dead In Perth Home

Five people have been found dead at a home in Perth‘s north-eastern suburbs.

The bodies were found at an address on Coode Street, Bedford after a man attended a regional Western Australian Police station on Sunday morning.

The man, reportedly aged in his 20s, provided information which led police to the home in Bedford.

In a statement via 7 News Melbourne, Metropolitan Region Assistant Commissioner Paul Steel confirmed the “tragic event”.

“Sadly at that location, police have located the bodies of a number of deceased people including women and children,” Assistant Commissioner Steel said.

The Assistant Commissioner could not confirm the number of the deceased but said “up to” five bodies were found.

The man who presented himself to police is now in custody.

Assistant Commissioner Steel assured the community there are no ongoing safety concerns.

At the time of the statement, the Homicide Squad and teams of detectives were on ground, accompanied by specialist forensic police.

Assistant Comissioner Steel could not provide information about the ages and relations between the deceased and stressed the investigation is still in its early stages.

“We understand there are children and adults involved. The exact numbers and genders are unknown at this stage,” he said.

“This is a tragic event and it will no doubt have an impact on not only the family and friends of the deceased, but on the whole of the community, those first responders who are faced with attending a scene with deceased people.”

No charges have been laid.
