Firies In Melbourne Saved A Wee Little Kitty From A Fearsome Dumpster

Who doesn’t love a nice, feel-good, quite literally fluffy story to round out a working Monday, huh? Especially one involving giant humans being very nice to tiny animals.

The Metropolitan Fire Brigade in Melbourne fielded a distress call from the RSPCA at 11am this morning, after animal welfare officers attended the scene of a tense cat rescue in Keilor.
Firefighters from the Sunshine Rescue Unit attended the scene and found a tiny, tiny, tiny little mate firmly stuck in the pipe at the bottom of a dumpster at Keilor Station.
The little guy was quite dehydrated and in some distress, so a firefighter by the name of Brian Herbert comforted the kitty while a plan of attack was formulated.
The cat’s head was poking out of the pipe, which was reportedly an opening smaller than the palm of the average giant firefighter’s hand.
After successfully sedating the cat, which was a stray, crews used olive oil to slowly get the wee furry mate moving, and he was successfully pulled from the pipe. His condition was reportedly said to be “pretty knackered,” and thus he was taken to a nearby vet for a check-up.
Officials also decided to dub the cat Brian, named after the man who helped calm the cat down during the rescue operation.

Naww mate. It’s all well and good to get yourself into a bin, but – and holy hell trust me on this – you’ve gotta know your way out first.
