Field of Flowers Grows in Martin Place as Sydney Pays Respects

Sydney continues to mourn for the victims of the Martin Place siege, which took the lives of Lindt Chocolat Cafe manager Tori Johnson and barrister Katrina Dawson, and a floral tribute continues to grow in the city’s CBD.
Prime Minister Tony Abbott and his wife Margaret laid flowers at the makeshift memorial and signed a condolence book, and a steady stream of people did the same, with mourners waiting in lines to pay tribute.
The Sydney Morning Herald report that the scene was mostly silent except for traffic noise, as the floral tribute grew a block away from the Lindt Chocolat Cafe. Police had to move the crowd back to accommodate the increasing number of bouquets.
