Man Who Defaced Eurydice Dixon’s Memorial Evades Jail Time For Community Work

Andrew Nolch, the man who defaced the memorial of Eurydice Dixon in Carlton‘s Princes Park has been sentenced to an 18-month community corrections order – where he is required to complete 200 hours of community service –  must pay $19,500 in damages, and must attend men’s behaviour change program.

Nolch pleaded guilty last week to vandalising the memorial of the 22-year-old Dixon, who was raped and murdered on her way home from a comedy show in Melbourne.

As reported by the ABCMagistrate Olivia Trimble told him at his sentencing that “the emotional damage of your conduct is immeasurable.

Earlier today, Nolch posted on his Twitter account that he is an “advocate for equal rights of both genders” and that “mainstream media and feminists turned the tragic murder of Eurydice Dixon into on giant political man-hating event.”

The court found that Nolch defaced the site of Dixon’s memorial in the early hours before a mass public vigil was planned for the site.

Police charged 19-year-old Jaymes Todd with the rape and murder of Dixon, which occurred on the night of June 12 while she was walking home from performing a comedy gig.
