Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium will be renamed the Marvel Stadium from September 1 this year, thanks to an enormous new sponsorship deal penned with the Walt Disney Company.
3AW reports the Docklands Stadium, which has been sponsored by the Etihad Airways since 2009, will host a new Marvel flagship store and a bunch of superhero-related events as part of the arrangement.
The deal, which will encompass a complete rebranding of the 53,000 seat venue, is slated to run for eight years.
