GoT’s Esme Bianco Sues Marilyn Manson For Rape, Abuse & Threatening To Have Her Visa Revoked

Marilyn Manson

Game of Thrones actor Esme Bianco has filed a lawsuit against Marilyn Mason that accuses the musician of rape, abuse and violating the Trafficking Victims Protection Act.

Bianco is one of more than a dozen women to come forward with claims of abuse against the musician, after Evan Rachel Wood broke the floodgates with her statement on Manson’s alleged grooming and abusive behaviour during their relationship.

Bianco, who played fan-favourite Ros in Game of Thrones, says she was first victimised by the musician in 2009, when as a burlesque dancer she met his ex-wife Dita Von Teese and agreed to perform in a still-unpublished music video. According to Bianco, the shoot quickly turned violent and traumatic. You can read about that experience, and the rest of their relationship, here (with a huge content warning, obviously – the stuff Bianco describes is pretty horrific).

Now, after successfully advocating for the passing of the Phoenix Act in California, which extended the statue of limitations for domestic abuse survivors, Bianco has filed a lawsuit detailing Manson’s alleged abuses. In a statement she posted on Twitter, Bianco said:

I am pursuing my right to demand my abuser be held to account, using every avenue available to me. For far too long my abuser has been left unchecked, enabled by money, fame and an industry that turned a blind eye.

The lawsuit states that Manson, whose legal name is Brian Warner, “used drugs, force, and threats of force to coerce sexual acts”, including “when she was unconscious or otherwise unable to consent.”

Shockingly, the lawsuit also alleges that Manson manipulated Bianco via her immigration status as a non-US citizen, promising her work that he knew would never eventuate. The lawsuit says that “by inserting himself in Ms. Bianco’s visa process, Mr. Warner was able to control Ms. Bianco by threatening to withdraw support if she displeased him.”

Buzzfeed has the full story here – proceed with caution, as it is very upsetting to read.

Bianco says that she still suffers the effects of their relationship, which started in 2009 and ended in June 2011 when she escaped while Manson was sleeping. She says she deals with depression, anxiety, panic attacks and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Manson has not publicly responded to the lawsuit.
