The Rescue Diver That Elon Musk Called A Pedo Is Considering Legal Action

It seems like it might be getting close to a good time for someone to take the keys to Elon Musk‘s Twitter account off him and point him in the direction of something that doesn’t immediately show everything he says to roughly a billion people.

The billionaire has made a series of ~interesting~ decisions on Twitter in the wake of the rescue of the Wild Boars soccer team from the Tham Luang cave complex in Thailand. Musk did not take kindly to people pointing out that the mini-sub he developed for the rescue was not used, and responded by questioning the expertise of the man in charge of the rescue operation and by saying that people are calling him a billionaire as a slur.

This seemingly untoppable bit of weird PR was swiftly topped when British member of the rescue dive team Vernon Unsworth called Musk’s involvement a “PR stunt” that had “no chance of working“. Musk calmly and rationally responded by labelling Unsworth a pedophile, because he’s a British person living in Thailand.

Musk deleted the tweets soon after he posted them. Can’t imagine why.

Speaking to reporters from the rescue site, Unsworth said he wasn’t ruling out legal action when asked if it was a possibility, telling reporters “Yes, it’s not finished“.

Unsworth told the Guardian that he was “astonished and very angry” at the comments.

Musk has also been fending off criticism on another front this week, after it was revealed by public accountability organisation ProPublica that Musk donated nearly $40,000 to a conservative group focused on ensuring that Republicans control the House of Representatives. Not a great look.

Log off, mate.
