Armie Hammer‘s estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers has broken her weeks-long silence, saying she is “shocked, heartbroken and devastated” by the allegations.
“I didn’t realise how much I didn’t know,” she said in an Instagram post, likely referring to Hammer’s alleged affairs throughout their marriage and the allegations of abuse and assault levelled against him.
“I support any victim of assault or abuse and urge anyone who has experienced this pain to seek the help she or he needs to heal.
“At this time, I will not be commenting further on this matter.
“My sole focus and attention will continue to be on our children, on my work and on healing during this incredibly difficult time.”
It comes weeks after screenshots of Armie Hammer’s alleged Instagram DMs first started circulating, in which he professes to be “100% a cannibal” and describes hardcore rape fantasies.
Since then, several other women who claim they were involved with the actor have come forward with similar stories, including one in which Hammer allegedly wanted to carve out a woman’s rib and barbecue it.
Hammer has denied the allegations, calling them “bullshit claims” that amount to nothing more than “spurious attacks against me”.
That being said, he’s now out of two upcoming projects: the Shotgun Wedding movie with Jennifer Lopez, and The Offer series about the making of The Godfather.
Right now, the only upcoming project he’s definitely still attached to is Find Me, the sequel to Call Me By Your Name with Timothée Chalamet, and that’s only because it’s a sequel to a much-loved, Oscar-winning movie. My guess is they’re probably waiting for the dust to settle before making any big announcement on that one.
Elizabeth Chambers and her two kids with Armie have featured heavily in this ongoing story, despite not being active participants.
According to many, many screenshots posted by @houseofeffie, Armie would (allegedly) use his kids as an excuse to leave the house and meet up with women. He would (allegedly) tell his ‘kittens’ to wait for his divorce, and Elizabeth’s name has come up a lot in the screenshots.
That being said, Armie’s alleged victims who are sharing their experiences have repeatedly thrown their support behind Elizabeth, with @houseofeffie repeatedly smacking down anyone trying to shit talk her.
Elizabeth said her kids are now her number one priority.

“Thank you for all of the love and support, and thank you in advance for your continued kindness, respect, and consideration for our children and me as we find ways to move forward.”
