In footage shared to the Dash Cam Owners Australia Facebook page, the man can be seen merging into 100km/h traffic at about 2:35pm. A passing motorist named Bruce spotted the bloke and, uh, unsuccessfully tried to get him to pull over.

“Move over mate, move over, you’re not supposed to be on the freeway,” Bruce tells him.

When the man shuts him down with a delightful “fuck off”, Bruce calls triple-zero.

“We’ve got an old bloke in a motor scooter …  I just told him to try and pull over but he told me to fuck off,” he tells an extremely amused emergency call operator.

“I’m just going behind him with my hazards on, but the traffic’s obviously pretty dangerous at the moment.”

“He’s just driving along quite happily,” Bruce adds as the man weaves in and out of the service lane.

Before long, a police car rocks up and the ol’ man’s Friday adventure comes to an end.

In a statement to 9News, Victoria Police said the elderly man had been reported missing a short time earlier by family members.

“He was taken to Glen Waverley Police Station where he was reunited with his family,” they said.
