El Chapo Underwent Surgery For Erectile Dysfunction While On The Run

Hardened criminal Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman apparently had a softer side – this according to Mexican newspaper Reforma, who claim that the wanted drug lord underwent surgery for erectile dysfunction while on the run.
Per their report:

“Between September and October last year, Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman underwent surgery in which doctors placed an implant in the testicles so he could get an erection, said sources close to the investigation into this capture. The implant improves blood circulation and is recommended to patients with erectile dysfunction, a disease that, according to the sources, the leader of the Sinaloa Cartel suffers.”
In October of last year, El Chapo was eating tacos in a remote mountaintop hideaway with Sean Penn while participating in a now-infamous interview, but it is believed that the surgery took place in the major city of Tijuana.
Reforma report that doctors examining Guzman after his capture found scars on his back, hips and reproductive system that were indicative of the male enhancement procedure.
It has previously been reported that authorities in the January 8 raid that led to El Chapo’s capture found injectable testosterone, anti-inflammatories and prescription performance-enhancing drugs in the house where he was staying.
In an interview with the U.S. version of 60 MinutesSean Penn spat the dummy quite hard indeed, saying he regrets how his Rolling Stone interview with El Chapo has been received, and that he feels “my article failed.”
The full interview with Penn and Charlie Rose airs Sunday night in the U.S.
