Dude Who Farted His Way Out Of Police Interview Pleads Guilty To Drug Charges

Most people are terrified of being caught farting – overheard by your co-workers, or worse yet, smelt by a loved one in the bed you’re sharing – but for this bloke, farting in public almost paid off. Almost.

As the The Kansas City Star writes, a police interrogation was cut short because the suspect was farting so goddamn much. Like the power of this dude’s flatulence was so much that the cops couldn’t bear to be in a room with him anymore.

Let’s set the scene: it’s September last year, and the man is 25-year-old Sean Sykes Jr., the passenger in a car that’s been stopped by cops in a routine traffic stop in Kansas City, Missouri. The cops find a backpack full of drugs and guns.

When asked for his address during questioning, Sykes “leaned to one side of his chair and released a loud fart before answering“, a detective wrote. What a power move. A move teenage boys could only dream of pulling off.

Court documents say he then “continued to be flatulent” until the cops straight up gave up on talking to him. Imagine the power of his stench.

Last year, Sykes Jr. was charged with both intent to sell cocaine, heroin and marijuana, and with being a felon in possession of three firearms – two of which, including a .357 Magnum, were reported stolen.

This week Sykes Jr. pleaded guilty to the drug possession charge, and a charge of using a firearm in furtherance of a drug crime.
