There’s nothing better than looking at your phone on a Monday morning, blearily rubbing your eyes as you squint in the harsh glow of your screen, only to see the most beautiful thing you’ve ever witnessed: a big fucken shark.
This is the experience I bring to you today. Western Australian filmmaker Dave Riggs captured an absolutely massive great white shark lazily swimming off Fourth Beach at Twilight Bay using a drone on Saturday. For perspective, that patrol boat there is about 8.5 metres long.
There’s been a great deal of unease about increased shark sightings in WA, including several near West Beach, one of WA’s most popular and famous beaches. A report in The Australian quotes locals who say a whale carcass on Alexander Bay could be attracting more great whites.
All fear aside: that’s a big-ass shark. No thanks mate.
