Dreamworld Cops $300K Lawsuit From Bloke Injured On ‘The Wedgie’ Waterslide

Beleaguered theme park Dreamworld has been slapped with a $300,000 lawsuit by an Indian cricketer who claims his sporting and working life has been ruined after he was injured on a slide called The Wedgie.

No, it doesn’t seem that the injury he copped shooting down The Wedgie is what you think it was. Bikramjeet Singh Benipal, 29, claims he suffered knee ligament damage after he was sent down the slide – which is in Dreamworld’s sister park WhiteWater World – without proper warning.
According to Mr Benipal’s claim, the hyperextension injury has caused him great pain and made it difficult for him to play cricket. He is studying as an electrician and claims the injury will make his work more difficult. The claim explains further:
He is 29 years of age and will have difficulties standing, twisting and squatting in a kitchen setting. As an electrician, he will have difficulty maintaining a safe footing on ladders, squatting and moving in confined areas, carrying heavy equipment and working safely and durably on housing or construction sites. He is likely to work at a slower pace, and be unable to complete more strenuous tasks.

He is seeking a total of $294,441 in damages, the majority of which is calculated from expected economic loss.
