Dr. Luke Is Gonna Let Kesha Perform At Billboard Music Awards After All

A few days ago, we reported that Kesha‘s performance at the Billboard Music Awards had been nixed. Not because she no longer wanted to or couldn’t, but because producer Dr. Luke rescinded the approval.
Her legal battle to distance herself from her alleged rapist Dr. Luke (real name Lukasz Gottwald), his label Kemosabe Records and Sony is still ongoing.
There were rumours that Kesha’s performance would include commentary on both the case and Dr. Luke.
However, the singer posted on Instagram yesterday that had never been the plan, and she’d actually wanted to sing a Bob Dylan song.
Kemosabe Records released a statement about this today, saying that the rumours were why they pulled the singer’s performance:
“Kesha’s performance on the Billboard Music Awards was always approved, in good faith.

Approval was only suspended when Kemosabe learned Kesha was to use the performance as a platform to discuss the litigation.

Now that Kemosabe has obtained assurances, that it is relying upon, from Kesha, her representatives and Dick Clark Productions that neither Kesha nor her supporters will use the performance as such a platform, the approval has been restored.”
We’ll soon see, we guess.

The Billboard Music Awards are being held in Las Vegas on Sunday May 22nd.
