“Dozens” Dead After Truck Crashes Into Bastille Day Crowd In France

French TV channel and CNN affiliate BFM TV has reported that at least 30 people are dead, and many more are injured from the crash. 

Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, has posted this message on Twitter, which roughly translates to, 

Cher niçois, le chauffeur d’un camion semble avoir fait des dizaines de morts. Restez pour le moment à votre domicile. Plus d’infos à venir

BFM-TV has also reported that police and the truck occupants exchanged gunfire.

The people involved were allegedly watching a firework display as the truck drove into the crowd. 

There is no confirmation that the attack is terror-related.
