“Dozens” Dead After Truck Crashes Into Bastille Day Crowd In France

Officials in France are stating that “dozens” of people are dead after a truck crashed through crowds of people during a Bastille Day celebration in the capital of the French RivieraNice.

French TV channel and CNN affiliate BFM TV has reported that at least 30 people are dead, and many more are injured from the crash. 
Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, has posted this message on Twitter, which roughly translates to, 

“Dear Nice , the driver of a truck seems to have left dozens dead. Stay for now to your home. More info to come.”

The only footage so far has come from Twitter:

BFM-TV has also reported that police and the truck occupants exchanged gunfire.
The people involved were allegedly watching a firework display as the truck drove into the crowd. 
There is no confirmation that the attack is terror-related.
