Donald Trump’s Campaign Is Facing Some Yuge Money Problems RN

The campaign of presumptive Republican candidate for U.S. President, Donald Trump, has hit a tiny bit of strife that isn’t related to loud, brash comments he’s made on national TV.

Looks like The Donald’s campaign isn’t exactly flush with cash – his financial report suggests that he entered June with just $US1.3 million in the campaign bank, as opposed to opponent Hillary Clinton‘s $US42 million. Basically, he’s not collecting the volume donations that Clinton is, and hasn’t personally loaned his campaign anything since a $2.2 million loan in May.
The New York Times said Trump’s deficit is “the worst financial and organisational disadvantage of any major party nominee in recent history.”

A story last week suggested that the GOP asked Trump to call and schmooze money out of more than 20 top donors to the party, but he gave up after calling just three of them.
Trump reckons that this isn’t a problem. If the going gets tough, he says, he’ll jump pump his own cash into the flagging campaign. “I spent $55 million of my own money to win the primaries. Fifty-five, that’s a lot of money by even any standard,” Trump said. “I may do that again in the general election.”

His full statement is below:

Despite his bluster, there’s clearly some cracks showing in his campaign. He fired his hothead campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, who was almost certainly a large part of his success. But Lewandowski is a bit of a hothead (to put it lightly) and Trump probably needs to start running a sliiiiightly more conventional campaign if he wants to win in November.
We know one thing: wherever he ends up getting it from, he needs cash.
