President Donald Trump – person who loves himself a Twitter rant, often of the slightly unhinged and regularly falsely accusatory type – has aimed his latest one at NASA and the way it’s spending its money. The thing is, it REALLY sounds like he reckons Mars is part of the moon.
For all of the money we are spending, NASA should NOT be talking about going to the Moon – We did that 50 years ago. They should be focused on the much bigger things we are doing, including Mars (of which the Moon is a part), Defense and Science!

Ok then.
It’s believed the Tweet was in response to a segment on Fox Business featuring NASA’s Chief Financial Officer Jeff DeWitt talking about their planned 2024 moon expedition.
“What we’re doing now is establishing a sustainable presence on the lunar surface,” he explained on the news show, “We need to drive that innovation and complete those technologies to allow us to have a sustained presence on Mars.”
Silly NASA, didn’t you know Mars IS the moon?
So yes, it’s almost certainly just poor wording yet, naturally, Twitter is having a damn field day with ‘the moon’ and ‘NASA’ both becoming trending topics right after the odd tweet.
