We’re at a point in modern history when we can recognise that decorum is not the defining characteristic of a good person, and a great many people do wonderful things for their friends, families, and communities while offending the sensibilities of anyone outside of those groups.
But c’mon, dog. Don’t be fist-pumping upon arrival at a 9/11 memorial service.

Footage captured overnight in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, shows US President Donald Trump disembarking Air Force One, striding towards an expectant crowd, and double fist-pumping.
Trump was on his way to a memorial service in Shanksville. That’s near the site of the Flight 93 crash, which saw passengers aboard the jet overpower Al-Qaeda hijackers before they could target major civilian and government centres.
Not exactly a jovial situation. But there’s Trump, acting like it’s 2011, he’s four vodka Red Bulls deep, and Benny Benassi’s Cinema just came on at the club.

The optics join other baffling statements made by Trump regarding the attacks, including this acontextual tweet:
17 years since September 11th!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 11, 2018
And a defense of his lawyer Rudy Giuliani, who was mayor of New York City when the attacks took place:
Rudy Giuliani did a GREAT job as Mayor of NYC during the period of September 11th. His leadership, bravery and skill must never be forgotten. Rudy is a TRUE WARRIOR!

Trump went on to deliver a relatively traditional and reflective speech at the memorial. It is unknown if he carried on fist-pumping afterwards.
