Deadset Legend Brings Super Mario Bros To Life As An Augmented Reality Game

You know when bros tell you they’d let you win at ‘Super Mario Bros’ as a wooing technique? Just me? Well, if they do, show ’em this, and laugh as you imagine them meandering like this around Central Park.
Twenty-eight-year-old New Yorker Abhishek Singh spent about a month recreating the first level of Super Mario Bros as an augmented reality experience. And, like a deadset legend, he’s filmed himself testing it out, all while dressed as Mario.
This is probably the closest anyone is gonna get to playing the beloved Nintendo game in real life, and it looks pretty sick actually, especially for the person playing. It also looks heaps entertaining for anyone watching ’em jump and crouch and catch and just move awkwardly around.
While Singh’s version will probably never be mass produced, he has said he’ll probably share the code online, “or if people are in New York and want to try it, maybe that could be arranged“. Keeeeeeeeeen.
