Danny Green Slams Rumblr – “The Tinder For Fighting” – And Its Creators

Boxer Danny Green has a pretty simple message to all the testosterone-addled youth actually keen on the hoax app Rumblr: if you absolutely must get your jollies through the willful destruction of another person’s face, at least leave it to the professionals.

Green said the app, which was billed as like Tinder for punch-ons, is “an absolute disgrace” and labeled those behind it as “cretins.”
He said the app founders’ “flippant and poor judgment is helping the erosion of society with senseless violence… in an uncontrolled environment.”

The bloke isn’t a stranger to copping a few on the chin, but he’s been very outspoken about keeping violence in the ring, even lending his battle-hardened visage to New South Wales‘ coward punch PSAs.
At this stage, the app’s reputation precedes itself. Its “college dropout” developers pulled the pin on the project today, announcing it as a semi-serious ‘marketing ploy’. That sounds like it’ll go down reeeal nice with potential partners – who doesn’t want their businesses associated with random acts of violence?

Of course, it’s worth noting the apps provenance, as the idea first bubbled out of the acrid muck that is 4chan. Quelle suprise. How about we, you know, not go around hurting each other for shits and gigs?

Just a thought.
