Big daddy Dan Andrews has congratulated young people for getting jabbed so quickly with AstraZeneca and in the same breath slammed boomers, which we absolutely fkn love to see it!
Earlier this week, the Victorian government announced that anyone aged 18-39 could now get jabbed with AstraZeneca at state vaccination hubs. Barely a week after that announcement, and young Aussies have already been rocking up to the state-run clinics in droves.
“The response since Sunday, when we made those announcements and expanded eligibility for 18-year-olds, plus people in their 20s and 30s, has been very, very strong,” Daniel Andrews said at a press conference today.
“To have more than 10,000 people through the program already (when it has only been in nine sites) says to us there is very strong demand.”
The Vic Premier had congratulated young people for coming forward in large numbers to get AZ jabs now that they can in state vax hubs
He then said the state *isn’t* seeing the same enthusiasm from people in their 50s and 60s and calls on them to get vaccinated ASAP #CovidVic

Dandrews also took the opportunity to make a subtle jab (no pun intended) at the 50 to 60 demo aka baby fucking boomers.
“Can I just send a shout out to people who are in their 50s and 60s?” he said.
“I don’t know if we are necessarily seeing the same level of interest in people coming forward getting their first and second doses.”
See what happens when you actually allow young people to get vaxxed? We bloody do it.
Daniel Andrews also encouraged Victorians to get the vaccine that’s “available today”. If you’re unsure how to get jabbed as quickly as possible, we’ve created a simple guide here.
“As the Chief Health Officer says, the best vaccine is the one that’s available today, ” Andrews said.
“You’ll be making a powerful contribution on behalf of all of us. We aim to be, by the end of September, at about that 60% mark.
“The quicker we get to 70%, will mean the quicker we get to 80% and then we will be in a different world: one where hopefully lockdowns are not part of everyday living.”
We can do it!
All adult Aussies (yep, even if those of us under 40) are currently able to get the safe and effective AstraZeneca vaccine through a GP. Click here to see which clinics are offering it, and talk to a doctor to see if it’s right for you.
Alternatively, you can triple-check to see if you’re eligible for the Pfizer vaccine here.
The best vaccine is the first one you can get, and that’ll be our ticket out of this mess.
