Dan Harmon is the latest in the long and growing list of TV and film personalities to be outed for prior shitful behaviour, with the Rick & Morty co-creator accused of workplace harassment and emotional abuse by a former employee.
Megan Ganz, who wrote for Harmon on his NBC show Community, outed Harmon on Twitter throughout yesterday in a long back-and-forth that detailed how Ganz, working under Harmon, felt humiliated and dehumanised by his behaviour towards her, to the point of doubting her own abilities as a professional.
The saga began after Harmon, who in the past has been open about his dickhead-ish personality and actions, declared 2017 the “Year of the Asshole.”

Ganz took exception to this and probed Harmon to continue.

From there, Harmon attempted to grovel and apologise to Ganz over what seems to be a fairly checkered history, with Ganz explaining in eloquent detail the hurt and harm that Harmon’s behaviour caused her. The full conversation reads as follows:

Ganz penned a number of classic episodes of Community, including ‘Cooperative Calligraphy,’ ‘Intermediate Documentary Filmmaking,’ and the incredibly good Law & Order homage episode ‘Basic Lupine Urology.’ After leaving the series at the end of season four, Ganz became a writer for Modern Family, before landing her current gig on the writing staff at It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Harmon, it should be noted, performatively and publicly lashed the Rick & Morty fans who enacted a campaign of harassment against the show’s female writers.
