Students at yet another high school shooting in America, where the teacher was arrested, are calling out Donald Trump and the NRA‘s insane plan to “arm teachers” as a way of making schools safer.
Earlier today, an armed high school teacher in Georgia barricaded himself alone inside his classroom, firing a shot when the principal tried to force open the door.

The teacher, later identified as social studies teacher Jesse Randall Davidson, 53, was taken into custody without incident about 30 to 40 minutes later.
Police said they had no immediate explanation for what may have caused the incident, and declined to comment on whether or not it was a suicide attempt, but spokesperson Bruce Frazier said that “This teacher apparently did not want to involve students in any way.”
Now students at Dalton High School are joining the chorus of those asking just how, exactly, will arming teachers will make schools safer for students.
@nra my favorite teacher at Dalton high school just blockaded his door and proceeded to shoot. We had to run out The back of the school in the rain. Students were being trampled and screaming. I dare you to tell me arming teachers will make us safe.

So are we still going to give teachers guns? I’m on the bus evacuating Dalton high school.

I’m a Dalton High School student. You can’t tell me that what happened today is fake. You can’t call what happened today a conspiracy. You weren’t there and don’t know the fear I had. To call my feelings fake and the ones of my fellows students is a joke. I was there you weren’t.

In the wake of the Parkland shooting, where 17 students were killed, Trump has been using what is frankly insane logic to argue for the arming of teachers, rather than bring in sensible gun control.
I never said “give teachers guns” like was stated on Fake News @CNN & @NBC. What I said was to look at the possibility of giving “concealed guns to gun adept teachers with military or special training experience – only the best. 20% of teachers, a lot, would now be able to

….immediately fire back if a savage sicko came to a school with bad intentions. Highly trained teachers would also serve as a deterrent to the cowards that do this. Far more assets at much less cost than guards. A “gun free” school is a magnet for bad people. ATTACKS WOULD END!

That being said, the latest reports out of the White House show that Trump on Wednesday repeatedly embraced a series of gun control measures to the “surprise of many”, says the New York Times.
He told lawmakers to pursue Democratic bills that have been opposed for years by the vast majority of the Republican Party and the NRA, which would expand background checks, prevent mentally ill people from accessing guns, and restrict the sale of guns from some young adults.
