The cult podcast set in the fictional desert town of Night Vale has earned itself a rabid following and geeky reputation since its inception in 2012. The bi-monthly serial podcast centres around a community radio show hosted by the podcast’s narrator Cecil Palmer. It’s frequently cited in Best Podcast lists, and is often mentioned in Essential conversations in the same breath as This American Life or WTF with Marc Maron.

The often weird, generally hilarious, quite frequently wonderful podcast ranks as one of the more notable of the format, and has since developed the recorded show into a live stage experience that has been touring across America and the UK. And now it’ll make its way out here to our shores this coming summer.

The Welcome To Night Vale stage experience features a never-before recorded episode of the serial, written especially for the stage, with Cecil Baldwin live on stage in character as Cecil Palmer anchoring the show. Accompanying him is live music by Dispirition, additional music by Dessa – filling the role of “The Weather” – and a whole swathe of special guests.

The Night Vale live show will be touring in February, making stops in all state capitals (except Tas, NT, and ACT), as well as in New Zealand.

Tickets hit pre-sale this coming Friday morning for Night Vale regulars via welcometonightvale.com, and via Live Nation, before they hit the general public on Monday, September 7th.
