World’s Goodest Sniffer Dog Allegedly Catches Off-Duty Cop With Drug Possession At Casino

In news that’s almost too ironic to believe, a drug dog has just caught a *checks notes* off duty cop with cocaine at Star Casino.

Yes, a senior constable has been charged with drug possession after being allegedly caught with cocaine at a casino in Pyrmont, New South Wales.

The 32-year-old member of the Child Abuse Squad was arrested at around 9.30pm on Saturday night after a sniffer dog came over to say hello.

According to a police statement, the man was found with a “small amount” of cocaine. Regardless of the amount of drugs in possession, police standards state that all employees “must comply with the law whether on or off duty.”

The unnamed officer was immediately suspended from duty while an investigation by the Professional Standards Unit takes place.

“In the event that you are charged with a criminal offence you are required to report the matter to your commander,” the standards say. “Serious misconduct can lead to transfer, loss of income or removal from NSW Police.”

He will appear in Downing Centre Local Court on drug possession charges on October 23. It is unclear whether he will remain in the police force.

Ahhh, the sweet, sweet taste of irony. *sips tea*
