Holy Shit, Conan O’Brien Just Announced A One-Off Australian Show Next Month

Well god damn, this came outta the dang blue. Conan O’Brien, the beloved ginger quiff of US late night TV, has announced a very special one-off Australian show that’s set for next month.

That’s February. Not six months from now. February this year. In a handful of weeks. Hot damn.

With his eponymous TV show Conan undergoing a large structural shift, moving from one-hour down to a streamlined 30 minutes, the enduring TV host has begun branching out into other endeavours on the side.

One of those new extracurricular activities happens to be live touring, and as it would happen O’Brien has apparently found the time to sneak out to Australia for one night only.

Conan & His Australian Friends, announced this morning, is set to go down on Wednesday, February 20th at Sydney’s State Theatre.

Previous live tours in the United States have included a lineup of high profile comedian friends of both O’Brien and the show, and his prior roster of comic guests on his show is replete with Australian talent, including the likes of Nick Cody and Sam Simmons in recent times.

The Sydney show marks the first time since 2000 that Conan has appeared in Australia; he previously visited the country for the 2000 Sydney Olympics, filming segments for his then-show Late Night with Conan O’Brien.

Pre-sale tickets for the special Sydney show go on sale to Frontier Touring members at midday this coming Wednesday, January 23rd.

General public tickets will be available from 10am on Friday, January 25th.

You can cop all the required info about the show from Frontier Touring.
