An accidental typo by a social media manager for Coles‘ Facebook page has resulted in something of a PR disaster.
Yesterday, a consumer asked them if it was true their $1 per litre milk is at times made from reconstituted milk powder, and if yes, does it put pressure on farm gate prices paid to Australian dairy farmers.
“We can confirm that Coles Brand Fresh milk is made from reconstituted milk power,” they wrote back.
Yet, as it turns out, this is not the case at all. Not one bit. They gone flubbed. What they actually meant to say was the milk “is not made from reconstituted milk powder”.
Spoke to Coles. They say there was an error in the wording of the Facebook post and that their milk is *not* made from powder. Bad stuff up.

But they didn’t. And now their Facebook is awash with dire comments from v. v. pissed off people.
But this comment takes the bloody cake.
One lady – who is nothing if not an opportunity seizer – capped her milk-based rant with a complaint about their stocking of Halal meat, too.
