The Cole Sprouse Google Girl Says She Was Just “Checking Her Sources”

It’s been a wild 24 hours for Janani Krishnan-Jha, the girl who got caught punching the name “Cole Sprouse” into Google by none other than Cole Sprouse himself.

In case you missed that exhilarating piece of celebrity sighting news, you can read all about it here. Basically Sprouse, who you may recognise from the extremely popular TV show Riverdale, was behind Krishnan-Jha in line at an ice-cream store in Hawaii when he spotted her googling… him.

And, as is his wont, he put the whole thing on his Instagram story.

Amazingly for us, Krishnan-Jha, a 19-year-old student at Harvard studying psychology and women, gender & sexuality studies, got in touch with PEDESTRIAN.TV to explain exactly what went down in that fateful ice-cream store – including why the hell she was googling the bloke in the first place.

I was standing in line for a cone of ice cream after zip lining with my mom and sister when someone who looked a lot like Cole Sprouse walked in. Since I’ve been at school, I haven’t watched a lot of TV, so I hadn’t seen him since his Zack and Cody days. I wasn’t 100% sure what he looked like.

So I turned around and tried to discreetly google him, to check if the picture matched up, but I guess I wasn’t particularly discreet, because when I turned around and asked for a selfie, he told me “I saw you google me”. I told him I was embarrassed and we both laughed it off and took a selfie!

After that, he told me to have a nice day and left the store, and I thought that this was an embarrassing little story that nobody would ever know about.

But two minutes later, the texts started to flood in, and my friends told me he’d posted something about me on his story.

That, she says, is when she knew she’d gone viral.

So far the hilarious interaction has been documented by Buzzfeed, Teen Vogue, MTV, Entertainment Online, New York Magazine and Seventeen (and us, obvs) and Krishnan-Jha is being remarkably chill about the whole thing.

At Harvard, they tell us to always ‘check our sources,’ so I guess this was the result!” she told us.

To be perfectly honest, Krishnan-Jha is probably the best person this kind of sudden internet notoriety could happen to – not only is she a Harvard student and future civil rights attorney, she’s a worldwide pun champion (obviously very relevant to P.TV‘s interests), she regularly volunteers at the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter, and she has an outstanding set of pipes.

Cop this vid of her and sister Abhaya casually busting out some A+ Alicia Keys:

Considering all her extra-curricular excellence (including ripping it up in an acappella group called the Harvard-Radcliffe Veritones), we totally believe her story about checking her sources. Girl’s just trying to be thorough, and we heartily respect that.
