Coachella Reveals Timetable, Sneakily Adds Big Names To It

The annual parade of fashionable waifs and the waifishly fashionable known as the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival kicks off this weekend on the manicured polo fields of Indio that cut through an otherwise barren part of California. Event organisers have released the timetables for the three day event, and along with the usual head-scratching dilemma of bands you’d like to see clashing, they’ve managed to slip in a couple of surprises that they’ve somehow managed to keep really, really quiet. Along with headliners, the reunited OutKast, British heavyweights Muse, and Canadian darlings The Arcade Fire, you’ll notice a couple of names not seen on the posters prior to now in the legendary Pixies along with Stroker, Julian Casablancas.

The festival runs twice, over two consecutive weekends, and includes a phenomenally stacked lineup, which includes appearances by Australian legends Flume and Empire of the Sun, as well as our much beloved little Kiwi sister, Lorde, alongside big names like The (motherfucking) Replacements, Queens of the Stone Age, Pharrell Williams, Beck, Foster the People, Pet Shop Boys, Neutral Milk Hotel and Motörhead.
Whilst the whole thing’s taking place way the hell over in California, fear not, those of us restricted by that cruel bastard known as the Pacific Ocean. Coachella will be doing its usual excellent job of live streaming the choice cuts direct from the valley to your screens via YouTube. Excellent.
