“International in flavour, cosmopolitan in style,” has been Melbourne-based musical duo Client Liaison‘s longstanding motto.
And today, the boys have taken their belief system to a whole new level.
It’s a double barrel affair, this one. They’ve partnered up with Pidapipo to help cut the ribbon on the gelato institution’s first store south of the Yarra. They’ve ventured out of their usual territory, working with the gelateria’s Lisa Valmorbida to create a signature flavour that’ll be available at the store till the end of the month.
What will it taste like, you ask? Pavlova? VB?
Close, but no dingo. It’s a dreamy mix of bush wattle and macadamia, and for today only, from 4pm to 7pm, the friendly folk at Pidapipo (85 Chapel St, Windsor) will be scooping it out for free. Yep folks, free. No chequebooks required.
“Lisa taught us the art of gelato – we’ve been eating so much of it for so long, doing this was a financial bandaid of sorts,” jokes Harvey.
Frontman Monty Miller and producer/keyboardist Harvey Miller burst into the sunburnt country’s psyche back in 2012 with the release of End of the Earth, an ode to the Australia of yesteryear. An Australia where Bob Hawke skulled coldies at the cricket, Ansett was in the air and Bindi Irwin was but a twinkle in her father’s eye.
And next month they’ll out on their national ‘World Of Our Love‘ tour, set to be their “most comprehensive” yet.
“We could give you a little Pedestrian exclusive and tell you we’re having a huge overall to the staging for this tour… Think corporate office decor. Everything’s gonna be bigger and better. More bells and whistles,” Monty told PEDESTRIAN.TV.
They’re doing more than just churning gelato, with a new single close to dropping as well. “You think [the song’s] chill but then it gets very dancy. Hopefully you feel your stomach drop when it hits the chorus.”
