Chris Rock’s Tiny, Secret Standup Shows May Well Be Headed To Sydney, Folks

Chris Rock is currently in the country touring his ‘Total Blackout‘ show around some pretty outrageously big arenas for packed audiences of punters who have paid a pretty penny for the pleasure.
But the iconic comedian hasn’t been limiting himself to just his own shows during this tour, as it turns out. He’s been extremely quietly dropping into regular ole’ comedy rooms on his nights off, meaning punters who have paid as little as $15 have been scoring close-up and intimate seats to see Rock do his thing.
We already knew that Rock dropped into the Comedy Lounge prior to his dedicated, headlining appearance at the sold out Perth Arena. Turns out that wasn’t the only surprise show of the tour that Rock had planned.
Before he took to Hisense Arena in Melbourne last night, Rock swanned his way up to North Melbourne on Sunday to pay an unannounced visit to The Comic’s Lounge, reportedly belting through a set of raw material for the room of punters, many of whom paid no more than $15 to get in.
‘Course it’s not unusual for big-name comics to do this; Eric Andre and Hannibal Buress both made unannounced appearances in various rooms around big cities while on tour recently in Australia, for example.
Still, if you can’t afford a ticket to ‘Total Blackout‘ – which you should try to get, because the show is very good – then your next best bet might well be a shrewd visit to a regular ole’ knockabout comedy room one night this week.
And wouldn’t you know it, there’s a very convenient one-day gap in his schedule after Rock smashes out his two upcoming shows in Sydney on Wednesday and Thursday this week.
Friday sounds like a good idea to go out for a cheap laugh, don’t ya reckon?
The final three shows of Rock’s Australian tour are as follows:

Tuesday June 27th – Hamer Hall, Melbourne VIC
Wednesday June 28th – Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney NSW
Thursday June 29th – ICC Sydney Theatre at Darling Harbour, Sydney NSW

Keep yr ears to the ground, chuckle fans.
