Chris Farley’s Early Voice Work For ‘Shrek’ Has Surfaced From The Depths


Attn: The feels train is about to smash into the station. You’ve been warned, kay?

Before his death in 1997, comedian and SNL regular Chis Farley was slated for the voice of Shrek. In fact, the whole project only gained momentum with his name attached to it. 

His early voice work with Eddie Murphy (Donkey) has just been uncovered. It’s an earlier script of the scene between Shrek and Donkey outside the cave, and if you thought that scene was emotional the FIRST time round, well – have a listen:

We all know what happened after Farley’s death – Mike Myers came on board, the script was changed accordingly, and the entire six film franchise (including Puss in Boots) went on to gross $3.5 billion at the box office worldwide.
