IT’S OFFICIAL: Cher Is Headlining The 2018 Mardi Gras Party

Welp, this may just be the moment when Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras reaches it’s absolute glittery, fabulous peak.

After months of whispers and speculation and vague tweets on her behalf, the ultimate queer icon Cher is confirmed to be headlining the massive Mardi Gras afterparty, celebrating 40 years of the march (which is now much more of a parade).

After the pop royalty hinted on her Twitter that she would be in the country in 2018, the party held at Hordern Pavilion immediately sold out, and the demand was so high that the Mardi Gras team were working their little tooshes off to figure out a way to expand the all-night event.

With the announcement of the queen herself, the Mardi Gras team have confirmed that the event has been expanded to include the Dome as well as extra outside space and food vendors, allowing the party to get even bigger.

Which means yes, there will be more tickets for punters to snap up from over HERE.

Members can pick up tickets from Monday 15th January at 10am, and general public can grab some from 10am on Wednesday 17th January.

Now let us all celebrate this incredible news with one of the most iconic Cher looks. Happy Friday.
