Ohhhh boy. The first trailer for David Cronenberg‘s latest trip into the human psyche has dropped, and it looks like everything you want from a Cronenberg film in 2014. Maps to the Stars centres around a highly dysfunctional dynastic Hollywood family, lead by a psychoanalyst patriarch, a prodigal child star who, at 13, has already done one stint in rehab, and a daughter undergoing treatment for compulsive pyromania. And also Robert Pattinson and Julianne Moore do the deed in the back of a limo. So, there’s that too.
This is the second consecutive collaboration between Cronenberg and Pattinson, after the former sparkly-skinned vampire starred in 2012’s lukewarmly received Cosmopolis.
Maps to the Stars stars Pattinson and Moore, along with John Cusack, Mia Wasikowski and Carrie Fisher. No release date has been set as of yet, but the film is predicted to appear in this years Cannes Film Festival.
