Celebrity tattooist Keith McCurdy is renowned for putting his work on A-listers – his NYC establishment Bang Bang is frequented by the likes of Rihanna, who got her gun tattoos there, amongst others.
A recent Instagram post, however, shows a different side of McCurdy’s work.
The below image shows the before and after shots of a breast cancer survivor’s chest – the woman’s nipples were removed as part of her surgery, so McCurdy tattooed a new, amazingly realistic set for her, pro-bono.
er.Alongside the post, he wrote:
“THIS IS A TATTOO. I’m sharing this in honor of breast cancer awareness month. This amazing woman and thousands of other amazing women along with their families fight this battle everyday. I was proud enough to help give this woman her breasts back. Let’s support these women and applaud their courage. We love you. We support you. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.”
We’ve chosen to screengrab the post rather than embed it, because with Instagram being opposed to female nipples of any sort, it may only be a matter of time until McCurdy’s work gets taken down.
