Cassie Sainsbury Allegedly Owed Thousands In Rent On Shuttered Gym

Cassie Sainsbury, the 22-year-old South Australian woman accused of trying to smuggle cocaine out of Colombia, was allegedly tens of thousands of dollars in debt when she shuttered her fitness company in 2015.

Speaking to 7 News, Yorketown locals said Sainsbury had not paid rent for the premises of Yorke’s Fitness for a considerable period of time leading up to its sudden closure.

Steph Bajcarz, a school friend of Sainsbury’s, told the network the debt “could be in the thousands.” Resident Lyn Gates also alleged that Sainsbury left the region “all of the sudden” after the gym closed down, and essentially “just disappeared.”

An unnamed source claimed to The Advertiser that Sainsbury had moved from the Yorke Peninsula town while owing money to a number of individuals.
However, the father of Sainsbury’s former partner Luke Tape says “Cassie doesn’t owe Luke any money.” Richie Tape told The Advertiser that claims Luke paid for gym equipment at Yorke’s Fitness were false, and that “we don’t know about any of her other financial affairs.”
We’ll keep you updated on this one.
