Cancer Fake Belle Gibson Pocketed $75K For Her ‘Tell-All’ 60 Mins Interview

Welp. Turns out that cancer fraudster Belle Gibson still managed to cop a bit of financial enrichment after all the controversy – the big tell-all 60 Minutes interview scored his a tidy $75,000.

Though Gibson has long refused to divulge whether she was paid for that interview, and 60 Minutes doesn’t disclose payments, Fairfax reports that two payments of $37,500 were made to Gibson’s lawyers in July 2015 for the appearance. The episode aired about three months after Gibson’s lie about having cancer had been comprehensively exposed.
It was initially speculated that Gibson may have been paid around $45,000, but it’s clear that figure was actually a lowball. Sheesh.
She’s currently facing a massive court case – which she hasn’t yet showed up for – from Consumer Affairs, for which she may be fined over $1 million. Which the $75K will not cover, to be quite honest.
There’s a lesson to be learned here, but I just can’t quite put my finger on it.
